Andrew Neville, a ninth-grader at Westlake High, won his high school debut by prevailing in the boys large school freshman 1.83-mile race in 9:57.1 at the Fastback Invitational at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. The course consisted of two Valley loops, running up Switchbacks, then down National Guard Alley, followed by a right turn up the airstrip and another right turn into the gauntlet.
