Heyden Wooff of Camarillo High and Sarah Baxter of Simi Valley are the runners of the year on the All-Ventura County cross country team.

The all-county boys’ and girls’ teams were selected by the Ventura County Cross Country Coaches Association.

Other individual boys’ runners of the year were: Easton Tackett, Ventura, senior; Adam Lucero, Camarillo, junior; Joel Gonzalez, Camarillo, sophomore; and Mikey Giguere, Westlake, freshman.

Camarillo’s Mike Smith and Ventura’s Tyree Cruz are the boys’ co-coaches of the year.

Besides Baxter, other girls’ runners of the year honors went to: Kaycee Holcomb, Oak Park, senior; Sophie Mateu, Royal, junior; Hannah Kirkegaard, Ventura, sophomore; and Madelyn Vorgitch, Simi Valley, freshman.

Roger Evans of Simi Valley is the coach of the year.

Named to the boys’ all-county first team were: Michael Vorgitch, Simi Valley; Gustavo Sanchez, Nordhoff; Sean Grumney, Newbury Park; Sam Worley, Thousand Oaks; Geno Arthur, Rio Mesa; Wooff, Lucero and Gonzalez, Camarillo.

Members of the girls’ all-county first team were: Melanie Joerger, Thousand Oaks; Shannon Byrne, Newbury Park; Erika Barr and Baxter, Simi Valley; Holcomb, Mateu, Kirkegaard and Vorgitch.

Second-team boys’ honors went to: Jonathan Miller and Timmy Snyder, Westlake; Nicolas Gervasoni and Sean Upson, Royal; Marco Godinez, Thousand Oaks; Esteban Vega and Cole Couchman, Camarillo; and Tackett.

Third-team boys’ runners are: Ryan Zelada, Oak Park; Kyle Salmonson, Ventura; Devin Bonas, Calabasas; Daniel Parsons, Buena; Matt Garvin, Thousand Oaks; Daniel Stebbings, Camarillo; Martin Arreola and Giguere, Westlake.

Second-team girls’ runners are: Milana Maddalone, Megan McNally and Rachel Vinas, Simi Valley; Raquel Lambdin and Kathleen Dunne, Camarillo; Nicki Ghazarian, Westlake; Kelly Upson, Royal; and Taelor Young, Oak Park.

Members of the girls’ third team are: Rachel Ranucci and Sammie Cox, Newbury Park; Jordan Jeworski, La Reina; Sherry Uchuion, Buena; Brooke Edell, Westlake; Sara Deluca, Agoura, Brittany Stalzer, Oak Park; and Hanna Jeters, Simi Valley.
