Star file Camarillo High's Ahmed Obed (center) set a school record in the 200-meter dash by finishing in 21.55 seconds at the Mount Carmel Invitational in San Deigo last month.

From San Diego to Santa Barbara, Ventura County athletes used stops at three track and field meets to make impact statements on a Saturday in March.

Camarillo High’s Ahmed Obed was runner-up to 2012 state champion Khalfani Muhammad of Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks in the boys 200-meter dash with a school -record time of 21.55 seconds at the Mount Carmel Invitational in San Diego.
