Westlake freshman Paige Sommers cleared 13-0.50 to win the girls pole vault at the Southern Section Divison 2 finals at El Camino College. Sommers is the national freshman leader and is closing in on the all-time California mark by a ninth-grader of 13-3, which was set in 2012 by Santa Margarita's Kaitlyn Merritt. Sommers also became the 42nd female athlete in California history to clear 13 feet, but only the second freshman.
